Road Closures
This webpage will be used to post current road closures and upcoming road closures. For more precise locations, view the map below.
Timber Bridge – The Timber Bridge is expected to reopen the afternoon of Thursday, September 25, 2025. Wear decking has been installed and was measured to be spaced out to accommodate the wheels on golf carts and trams. There are some gaps between the strips to allow the material to expand, but it is an overall smoother and quieter ride. The speed limit is still 5 MPH, and while it will be tempting to fly through there, we’d like everyone to keep it slow. Until the bridge is reopened, drivers should use the paved portion of Keelson Row (where the barge landing is) as an alternate route.
E Moore Street Bridge – The new bridge in Southport was reopened, but needs additional repairs. The NCDOT has stationed automatic “stop signals” to control traffic during the construction phase. Work is expected to start the week of 9/29. Work is expected to take 2 months. Expect delays.
Private Alley – There is a private alley between Chicamacomico Way and Currituck Way. All vehicles (including golf carts) are prohibited from passing through this alley.
