Public Services Director – The Village of Bald Head Island is looking for an experienced professional to direct the municipal services of Village’s Public Works Department in addition to collaborating with the Public Utilities Department which is responsible for waterline and distribution infrastructure in addition to the Wastewater Treatment facility.
This position performs professional and administrative work in budget development and management, directing and overseeing stormwater management, roadway, facility, and grounds maintenance, contractor services and recommending long-range plans and strategies for meeting citizen service needs. Must have demonstrated experience as an effective leader and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders on the Island.
Associate degree in civil or environmental engineering, public administration or related field and three to five years in a responsible management position in public services or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering preferred.
Anticipated Hiring range: $63,190 – $78,988 based on qualifications. The Village provides a comprehensive benefit and retirement package including contributions to a 401k plan and the Local Government Retirement System.
