BACKGROUND:
Michelle Kesmodel was hired as the Village’s Customer Service Representative/Utility Billing Clerk in November 2020. Prior to working for the Village, she worked for Bald Head Island Transportation Inc., for six years as a Dispatcher. With Limited she handled the selling of ferry tickets, taking tram reservations for island residents and visitors, handling money, assisting with locating lost belongings and creating routes for the trams to deliver riders to their destinations here on the island. Michelle has experience in customer service and administrative support as she previously worked for Food Lion for nine years in Direct Store Deliveries, and as a Customer Service Manager Trainee where she was responsible for 25% of the store’s inventory and ordering, as well as taking part in the company’s Fast Track Management Training Program. She also worked in the food and beverage industry for many years.
VILLAGE ROLE:
The Customer Service Representative/Utility Billing Clerk works under the supervision of the Finance Director. She is responsible for utility customer service, utility billing processing utility meter readings, maintaining the fixed asset inventory, and managing the debt set-off program. She’s also the “face and voice” of Village Hall as she serves as the receptionist for Village administrative offices. She greets visitors, answers the phone, manages park reservations and port-o-john rentals, and provides administrative support to the Village Manager and Finance Director and ordering office supplies.
