All Village Utilities customers should have received a notice in their latest water bill announcing an online, paperless system for submitting occupancy taxes. This notice applies to property owners who rent on a short-term basis. A short-term rental is defined as any accommodation that is rented for less than 90 days to the same person but does not include a property rented for less than 15 days during the calendar year which has not been listed with a rental agency.
Property rental owners who wish to continue to use paper submissions, can still do so, if they prefer. Using the new GovOS system is encouraged. A few reasons property owners should use the system:
- Everything is online – no need for paper remittance forms or mailing in checks
- Automated reminders to your email address about renewal due dates
- View completed application and filing history from your Business Center
- Excellent support from the GovOS Support Team
- Online payments
Notification letters should be delivered to property rental owners by February 28, 2023. If you have not received your notification letter, please contact the Village at taxes@villagebhi.org or blt.str.support@govos.com to request an activation code and account number. Also, please check your spam folder and add blt.str.support@govos.com to your safe sender list.
More details are available in the notice sent with the utility bills (view HERE). For additional information, please email taxes@villagebhi.org.
