FY 2026 ROAD MAINTENANCE – MAY 4-11 and MAY 11-15 (now extended through JUNE 5)
UPDATE – ALL ROAD PAVING IS COMPLETE – SHOULDER WORK STARTED ON 5/12 AND WAS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH FRIDAY, 5/15. DUE TO EQUIPMENT ISSUES, SHOULDER WORK HAS BEEN DELAYED TO JUNE 1 THROUGH JUNE 5. (Posted 5/19 at 2:15 PM)
The Village’s paving contractor is expected to perform wedging, milling, and paving from May 4 through May 11, and from May 11 through May 15, the Village’s contractor will be performing road shoulder work on 39 roads throughout the island.
Below is a list of the work that will be done:
- Tanbark Ct. 2” Mill & Pave – 573 SY – First street designated for paving.
- Edward Teach Wynd Ext – 3″ Mill & Pave – 110 SY (2 areas)
- Red Bay Ct. (small portion)
- Muscadine / S Bald Heady Wynd – 3” Mill & Pave – 1,500 SY
- Shoulder work on 39 roads throughout the island.
Please note that the Village has funds in its annual budget to address potholes. Requests for pothole repair can be made online via our service request portal HERE (the hammer icon on our website homepage), or you can call us at (910) 457—9700 ext. 1000.
Private Alley – There is a private alley between Chicamacomico Way and Currituck Way. All vehicles (including golf carts) are prohibited from passing through this alley.
