If you experience an outage on Bald Head Island, you can report it to Duke Energy in the following ways:

• Visit duke-energy.com on a desktop computer or mobile device. 
• Use the Duke Energy mobile app – Download the Duke Energy App from a smartphone via Apple Store or Google Play. 
• Text OUT to 57801 (standard text and data charges may apply). 
• Call the automated outage-reporting system, at 800.POWERON (800.769.3766) for Duke Energy Carolinas and 800-419-6356 for Duke Energy Progress. 
• Visit the interactive outage map to find up-to-date information on power outages, including the total number of outages systemwide and estimated times of restoration. 

Duke Energy customers can visit their Storm Center for additional information.

Island residents suggest cleaning out your refrigerators and freezers of food in case there is a long-term power outage. Spoiled food is not a pleasant item to take care when it is inside your home. Empty and turn off ice makers as well.
